The Farmland is the second major area in the game. It is located on the outskirts of a city, and after the road that marks the end of the forest.

In this location, there is a cornfield, several warehouses, livestock sectors (porcine and poultry), and the first glance at mind-controlling worms.

Bunker[]

In the middle of the cornfield, there is a hatch that leads to a bunker. Within the bunker there is a dark room with photographic materials, an abundant storage of canned food, and a closed door with a three-way lever. Through the door and after a long and cavernous passage, there is a final chamber with a seat connected to several computer screens and mind hats. traveling through the passage with the protagonist can be led to the alternate ending.

Trivia[]

  • In the bunker, there is a darkroom located to the left. Darkrooms are rooms where light-sensitive photographs or polaroids can be developed (typically illuminated by red light, since blue light interferes with the photosensitive material). There are multiple polaroids hanging from a clothesline that are dripping wet, presumably from developing fluid. This indicates that someone was just recently in the bunker before the protagonist arrived.
    • If the player waits around, the polaroids will begin to develop. One shows a photo of the huddle, while another shows a suspended metal cage with albinos inside (which is seen later in the game).
  • After the protagonist walks through the cornfield, multiple chicks will begin to follow the player. These chicks are used to knock a hay bale off a ledge by sucking them into some launching contraption. One chick will always die in the process.
    • If six or less chicks are used, then one will not die. However, for this to happen, the game must be loaded from the cornfield and not the save point after.
